DuraPlas LP DuraPlas LP Addison, TX Addison, TX Full-time Full-time $17 - $22 an hour $17 - $22 an hour 17 hours ago 17 hours ago 17 hours ago Position Summary DuraPlas is now hiring a Belt Production Technician to work alongside a team of 2-5 technical team members in our belt shop.
The belt shop runs as a job shop--a custom job comes in for one of our customers, and the team is responsible for figuring out how to make the most efficient cuts from a bulk roll of material, such as rubber or PVC belts, with a goal of preserving inventory and minimizing waste.
The belts are then punched with holes to allow for our buckets to be mounted, so planning and precision are key.
We are seeking a team player who is committed to continuous improvement and lifting up others around them so they can do their best work.
One of the most important traits we are looking for is hunger to take our production to the next level by seeking opportunities to implement new processes and train our team on the execution, such as with repairing and splicing belts.

This position will report to the Belt Production Supervisor and will work closely with the Customer Service team.
The belt shop operates Monday through Friday and the shifts vary in length from 8-12 hours.
Key Responsibilities Set up machinery to slit, punch, and package conveyor belt orders according to SOPs, work instructions, work orders, and/or special instructions while dimensionally inspecting the quality of the product to ensure it meets customer requirements.
Maintain necessary records as required by SOPs and work instructions such as:
inventory of materials used and finish product produced, production paperwork, inspection reports, time spent during production per order, and any scrap generated during production.
Mange the process of securing the belt through the loading and unloading process onto the machinery while ensuring that during the production process the belt does not run off the track and maintains an even feed.
Maintain spare part inventory, belt stock, and work area organized and clean throughout the workday.
Communicate any problems with machinery and/or materials to the Production Supervisor.
Performs preventative maintenance procedures on presses and slitters.
Adhere to all, and be capable of, executing all Belting standard operating procedures of the warehouse while adhering to, and maintaining, safety and efficiency.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Type of Experience Required Approximately 1-2 years of related experience in manufacturing.
History of ability to manage multiple projects with various priorities simultaneously with success.
Ability to use, read, and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and measurements from a carpenter's square, tape measurer, and ruler.
Ability to demonstrate reliability, accuracy, teamwork, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and procedures.
